The Board of Directors of the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) have a courtesy call on meeting with Mr. Mahbubul Alam, President, The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) in his office to discuss ways to promote bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Malaysia and make a stronger ties between two Chambers.
During the meeting, the President of BMCCI Syed Almas Kabir expressed his gratitude to FBCCI for the continuous support in enhancing business, investments, and overall development works. BMCCI also sought guidance and insights from FBCCI on how the two organizations can work together to foster stronger economic ties, facilitate market access, and promote business growth and development.
One of the key topics discussed was the signing of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Malaysia and Bangladesh. BMCCI expressed its interest in working with FBCCI to fulfill the requirements for signing an FTA between the two countries by advocating for policies, sharing expertise and knowledge on trade-related issues, facilitating partnerships between stakeholders, advocating for greater access to markets, and promoting trade between the two countries.
Syed Almas Kabir seeks support from FBCCI to advocate in policies for the mobility of skilled workers between Bangladesh and Malaysia, which would benefit both countries. By working together, BMCCI and FBCCI can help to address the skills gap in Malaysia and promote the development of a highly skilled workforce that can contribute to the growth and development of both countries.
The BMCCI leaders expressed their interest in promoting business networking programs in Chittagong, which would help promote entrepreneurship, skills development, access to finance, and other critical areas for the growth and development of the business community. BMCCI is very much keen to work closely with the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and other Chamber and Associations. BMCCI sought guidance and patronage from FBCCI to initiate such programs in Chittagong.
Mr. Mahbubul Alam, express his joy and heartfelt gratitude to the BMCCI leaders and share his valuable insights during the meeting. He mentions about his membership and connection with BMCCI and look forward to working closely with BMCCI to promote bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
